Our Story
Since 1969, D.O.C.S. Karate has been dedicated to shaping minds and bodies through the discipline and art of martial arts. Today, under the leadership of Master Donald Atchison, we proudly continue the legacy established by his late instructor, Master Victor A. Hughes, whom he began training under in the D.O.C.S. system in 1985. Master Atchison holds Master Ranks in Taekwon Do and Shorin Ryu Karate and actively studies Judo and Japanese Jiu Jitsu.
Our unique approach combines traditional karate principles with complementary practices like yoga, qigong, tai chi, and lifestyle medicine. We craft customized programs suitable for all age groups and fitness levels, focusing on enhancing fitness, promoting overall wellness, and preventing injuries for individuals and families.
Honoring our roots in practical application, we support a dedicated FIGHT TEAM for tournament representation. We equally value technical precision through our KATA TEAM and offer a creative outlet for younger members via our CHILDREN'S PERFORMANCE TEAM. For those focused on physical conditioning, our fitness and wellness programs provide a structured path to building strength and discipline. Join D.O.C.S.
